Summer is a great time of the year the pool is open, the days are longer, and everything is lush and green. Most importantly we go on those vacations we have been planning all winter long. Summer is also the time to prepare, and protect one of your biggest investments, your home.
Many people forget the last time they did some exterior/interior painting and carpentry repairs to their home. Others possible never have because they bought their house brand new. In either case exterior work to any home is very important especially in the DMV area.
We often overlook it, but the exterior of our homes endure all four seasons each year. Wood trims around windows and doors, decks, front porch, siding, shutters, and even some garage doors are all vulnerable to the harsh elements of rain and snow. It is important to protect these areas of your home because over time the rain and snow begin to rotten these materials. Sometimes you may not even notice until you decide to repaint your home. By this time you receieve a bill higher then expected because the painter has had to add the replacement of the wood trims, costing the labor to be more extensive.
The safest way to avoid this situation is by painting the outside of your homes every couple years as the paint serves as a protective coat to these areas of your home from the harsh elements. Summer time and fall is the prefect time to simply take a walk around the outside of your home and look at these key areas to see if they are ready to endure the weather this winter and spring. Most importantly by repainting your home it will also prepare you to impress your family and friends for the upcoming holidays!
